Orlando Community Arts Ballet School to open in August 2025

Mrs. Beverly Page, the President and CEO of Orlando Community Arts, the producer of the annual Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker, announced today that Orlando Community Arts will develop a private school focused on building the pool of ballet talent in Central Florida. The school is now registering ballet dancers of all skill levels who will be entering grades 6, 7 and 8 in August 2025.

Dancers will build their ballet technique while receiving a comprehensive, high-quality academic education. Orlando Community Arts Ballet School will be a private middle school, opening this August, with a unique focus on the arts, particularly ballet, alongside a rigorous academic curriculum that meets all Florida state standards.

Orlando Community Arts understand the importance of a well-rounded education. At the Orlando Community Arts Ballet School, children will not only receive exceptional ballet training, but they will also benefit from:

Intensive Ballet Instruction: Led by qualified dance instructors, our program will provide a strong foundation in classical ballet, as well as opportunities to explore other dance styles.

Mrs. Page, a retired educator with a deep commitment to student success, has assembled a team of passionate professionals, including certified teachers and highly qualified dance instructors. Her vision is to create a school that provides a truly exceptional arts education, allowing students to pursue their passion while achieving academic excellence. We envision Orlando Community Arts Ballet School as a place where young artists can flourish, grow, and achieve their dreams. We will also focus on helping our students matriculate to arts-focused high schools.

Tickets go on sale Sept 6
Orlando Community Arts announced that tickets for the 2024 production of Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker will go on sale on Friday September 6, .

Tickets will be available online on the website for the Dr Phillips Center for thr Performing Arts. Click on this link to be directed to the ticket link.

Tickets are also available at the Bill & Mary Darden Box Office at 445 Soth Magnolia Avenue, Orlando FL 32801. In 2024, Clare visits Puerto Rico

Orlando Community Arts announced the addition of the island of Puerto Rico as one of the lands that Clare, the Chocolate Nutcracker and Sugar Plum Fairy will visit during the show on Saturday November 30, 2024.
The dance scene based in Puerto Rico will be choreographed and produced by the Escuela de Bomba y Plena Tata. Beverly Page, the producer and author of Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker, said, "We are pleased to celebrate Puerto Rican culture through dance in this year's performance. Many children in our community will see their heritage reflected on stage, and many more children will learn more about their friends' culture."

Orlando Community Arts announces the 2024 date

Orlando Community Arts, the producer of Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker announced dates relevant to the 2024 show. The 2024 production will take place on Saturday November 30, 2004. Patrons are encouraged to visit the homepage of Clare And The Chocolate Nutcracker, to add their email address to the show's mailing list.

Auditions for the 2024 show will take place at DGBEK Studios at 4677 LB McLeod Road, Suite 1, Orlando FL 32811 on August 24, 2024. Auditions will begin at 11:00a.m. and are open to both aspiring and experienced dancers.

All dancers must register online in order to audition. The registration fee is $20 in advance. On the day of the audition, the registration fee is $35. The fee covers the cast t-shirt which must be worn at every rehearsal.
